When traveling to Greece, you have a plethora of authentic food options. As cuisines are influenced by other cultures and locations, it’s quite interesting to see what a particular dish may taste like in one city or country vs another.
Gyros are an incredibly delicious and cost savvy meal choice no matter where you are.
Prior to traveling to Greece, we had heard and read a lot about the various great food options and Lucky’s was definitely one of them. So of course, we had to try it for ourselves and see if the hype was really all that.
Lucky’s is a casual to go restaurant located centrally in Fira Town in Santorini, Greece close to the bus terminal. They do have some seating available; however, it gets extremely busy with the high traffic of customers so it’s best to take your food to go.
They have a slew of options to choose from at extremely cheap prices!
Some of the items they have are:
⁃ chicken/pork/lamb/shrimp pitas
⁃ Gyros
⁃ Kebabs
⁃ Falafels
⁃ Souvlakia
⁃ Salad
⁃ Sandwiches
⁃ Roasted meats
⁃ French fries
⁃ Hotdog pita etc.
Food does sell out so if you have any particular meat preferences, we recommend going earlier in the day so that you can have your fix of their delicious food. Trust us, we experienced this firsthand! Lucky enough, we had all week to go back for more and then some. 😋
The owner, Lucky and his staff are quite friendly and helpful. This spot is worth the wait and you’re guaranteed to return for more. When you arrive, start by proceeding to the back of the restaurant to place your order and then head to the front to collect your freshly cooked meal.
You can opt for individual items like a chicken gyro for 2.50€ or packaged meals such as a gyro, french fries and a Greek salad for 12€. Either way, the prices are very budget friendly and the best part is that their food is so delicious!
Pro Tip: opt to purchase your beverage from the convenience stall just outside the restaurant to your left. He has everything from water to beer at cheaper prices than the restaurants. 1€ 2L bottle of water; can’t beat that!
Until next time, keep dreaming, traveling, exploring and spreading your footprints.
